Touch of Nectar

{January 21, 2009}   Eva’s Shawl – Crochet Project – WIP

eva_shawl_beginnings This is the beginning of my Eva Shawl. It is a free crochet pattern I found on Ravelry.

I ordered the yarn from Knit Picks. It is from their Shimmer line of hand dyed lace yarn – alpaca and silk. Oh so soft!!! The color is called Cumulus and the photo really doesn’t do it justice. From the color card photos on Knit Picks, I thought it was going to be more blue, but it is really the color of a stormy Seattle sky. Lovely.

I’m about 90% done with this now. I need to do just a few more rows, then get brave and start blocking. I’m hoping that blocking it will highlight the open work of the pattern. Unblocked it looks like a tangled mess of yarn.
